After the closing of the ceramic factory in Reuver, the former industrial site became a void in the urban structure of the village. The municipality of Beesel gave us (KuiperCompagnons) the commission to execute a feasibility study for redeveloping the 6,5 ha site. Part of the study was looking at the possibilities to restore the monumental building of the former factory, into a public amenity.
Our final design proposal was based on creating a central green public space. In this park three small apartment buildings are situated. Around the park single family houses will connect the new neighborhood with the surrounded urban structures.
Due to the potential of the urban design the municipality of Beesel decided to take the lead in the real estate development them self.
